On the August 31, 2023, the OGA Jaffna organized an awareness campaign on the concept of the “green classroom” and herbal plants for primary and middle school students.
Empirical studies have shown that the presence of plants in the classroom can create a clean, healthy, and protective environment, leading to improve student’s performance and reduced physical and mental discomfort.
OGA president shared the presentation about green classroom and OGA provided potted ornamental plants and herbs for grade 1 and 2 classrooms and also supplied seeds and grow bags for the middle school as part of their green classroom competition.
The presentation on herbal plants awareness was conducted by a team of Community Medical Officers led by one of our old girl, Dr. (Mrs.) Vijitha Vibushan, along with Dr. (Mrs.) Tharshini Sivakumar and Dr. Thirunavukarasu Ragulan
